Blessing of the Children II

“May the Lord make you like Ephraim and Menashe.” This blessing is taken from Genesis 48:20. It is from the episode when Jacob conferred his blessing upon the two sons of Joseph. He prefaced his blessing with the words, “With you will Israel bless its own children saying may the Lord make you like Ephraim and Menashe.” Thus we join with Jacob as we bless our children.
