Baruch Shem Kivod Malchuto VIII: Divine Influence

“Blessed is the Name of His glorious kingdom for all eternity.” We only recite this verse aloud on Yom Kippur, as has been explained in earlier postings, and hopefully will be explained in future insights.

It is interesting that all these explanations describe us as living and existing on a higher level on Yom Kippur. It is strange that we begin reciting Baruch Shem aloud when Yom Kippur has just begun, before we have really experienced the fast, before we have prayed and before we have repeatedly confessed our sins.

It is as if we rise to the Yom Kippur level, not because of our work, but because of the power of the day. The sanctity and Divine Influence of the day, raise us to the level at which we can safely recite Baruch Shem aloud.

We can learn from this that we do not have to achieve the level of the ministering angels in order to recite Baruch Shem aloud; we only have to open our hearts and souls to receive the Divine Influence to be so aware of God’s Unified Kingdom in order to recite this verse as do the ministering angels.

The verse should be recited with a silent prayer that we merit receiving and incorporating the influence of Hashem Echad.
