Balak: The Trisker Maggid: Their Power of Prayer

The 2nd of Tammuz is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Avraham Twersky, the Trisker Maggid (1802-1889), whose drashos are recorded in his sefer Magen Avraham. He was one of eight sons of Rav Mordechai of Chernobyl and was Rebbe for 50 years.

“Moab became very frightened of the people, because it was numerous (Numbers 22:3).” Moab’s terror was of even the simplest Jews who were living at a level of a burning coal, as it says, “of the people,” they had achieved the status of ‘Am,’ that, ‘Rav Hu,’ great in its power of using prayer to achieve anything.
