Amidah-Sustenance-Zlotchov

The 5th of Nisan is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Moshe (ben Shlomo) Rokeach(1939), Kiev-Zlotchover Rebbe. A Chassid asked the Zlotchover why he lived in great luxury. The Rabbi replied, “We are taught in the Talmud that a fine dwelling, fine clothes and a beautiful wife broaden a man’s understanding (Berachot 57), and I need all the understanding I can acquire to serve my Master in the proper manner. (Dor Dei’ah, page 85)

“Grant me unlimited blessing and sustenance, so that I may broaden my understanding to better serve You.”

Haggadah– We do many things to celebrate our freedom, including dipping twice and leaning as did wealthy people during earlier times. Focus on the extra understanding that comes to those who have all these blessings.

Focus on this also when saying, “And afterward they will leave with great wealth.” the wealth that grants better understanding.
