Parsha Mitzvot: Acharei Mot: Mitzvah 190 – Concept 139

“The nakedness of your father and the nakedness of your mother you shall not uncover; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness (Vayikra 18:7) A Man may not have relations with his mother (Rambam, Hilchot Issurei Bi’ah – The Laws of Forbidden Relationships).

This prohibition is presented in the context of the father as well, as if to say, that one who has such a relationship is going back to his formation and seeing his existence in its most physical form without any sense of his spiritual existence.

This Mitzvah/Concept addresses relationships that are purely animalistic desire to live as one who has nothing but his animal instincts.
