Festival Prayers-Succot Kavanot-Psalm 93 Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

Festival-Prayer-Yom-Tov-Machzor-Shalosh-Regalim-iRejoice“God will have reigned, He will have donned grandeur; He will have donned might and girded Himself; even firmed the world that it should not falter (Psalms 93:1).” When a person accepts upon himself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven, even to the point of giving up his life, his will becomes a beautiful garment, so to speak, for God. Loving God with such intensity is considered a Mikvah of purification (Divrei Shmuel).

The sukkah, representing the cloud of mist used by God to form Adam is considered a mikvah. Just as when we immerse in a mikvah we are purified by immersing ourselves in the purest connection to the Creator; so too, when we sit in the sukkah we are “dressing in God's Presence, so to speak, and we pray that, “God will dress Himself in our desire to connect to Him in absolute purity.”
