Countdown to Pesach-24-Angelic Music Print E-mail

Pesach-Passover-Prayer-HaggadahReb Shmelke taught: We read in the Talmud (Megillah 10a) that the Angels wished to sing as the Egyptians were drowning in the Red Sea, but God silenced them, saying, “The works of My hands are perishing. How can you wish to sing?”

We may understand this as the Angels desiring to sing with such power and passion that the souls of the Egyptians would depart their bodies through the sweetness of the celestial music.

God said, “They have caused My children to perish; should they not perish directly from Me rather than die from your singing?” (Shemen HaTov, Page 7)

iPraise-Pesukei d’Zimrah-Psalm 148 and iAttach-Amidah-Kedushah: We can join with the celestial music of the Angels and sing with such power and sweetness that our enemies will perish!

Haggadah: God Himself: Not through an agent, an angel, or Seraph.
