Shir HaShirim-Seeing God In Us-Koretzer Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

Song-of-Songs-Shir-HashirimThe Koretzer taught: The explanation of the verse, “Let me see your countenance; let me hear your voice (Song of Songs 2:14),” is as follows: God declares to the good person, “Let Me be seen through your countenance, for God's image is in the countenance of the good person. Let Me be heard through your voice, for he who hears the words of good men is moved to improve himself. (Nofet Tzufim, page 59)

iPray-iPraise-Pesukei d’Zimrah: “Let Me be heard through your voice.”

Spiritual Tools: Tzitzit, Tallit, Tefilin: “Let Me be seen through your countenance, for God's image is in the countenance of the good person.”

Haggadah: We segue from Yachatz to Maggid with the declaration of Ha lachma anya, holding up the Matzah for all to see, to remind ourselves how God can be seen in our actions.

This Pesach that we eat; is because of what? Matzah? Maror?
