Beit Midrash: Responsa: Binyan shel Simcha: A Miracle of All the People Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

ResponsaThe 14th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Avraham Simcha of Amzislav, author of Binyan shel Simcha. He died on March 5, 1833. A person is obligated to recite a blessing when he visits a place where he experienced a miracle. His son is also obligated to recite a blessing. Are his grandchildren and future generations also obligated? For how many generations?

Conclusion:

When we consider the connection between all of Israel, that we are a living vibrant people connected to all generations, it would seem that all this man’s descendants are obligated to recite the blessing. It is not only a honor for him, but for the People of Israel.

(Binyan shel Simcha, Responsum 7)
